The final GP of the season took place at Sywell near Northampton. This is the traditional end venue and it offers excellent facilities including a lot of space to accommodate the prize ceremony and the end of season raffle.
Sywell is famed for its wind and today would offer a severe test. The course consists of a three sections. The first is open grassland and although the wind was strong it was, to a degree, consistent. Next was a garden area, here the wind was switching and swirling and flags, indicating wind direction, showed it was going left and right at the same time! The third section was "the bank of death", here targets were placed at varying heights and the wind was blowing a hooley. The strong wind gusted up the slope of the bank and lifted pellets well above the killzone.
Of the five competitions the winner of B grade and SFT had already been determined. The C and A grade winners were still uncertain and the big one could still be won by a number of shooters.
The last 2 seasons had seen the Sywell GP won with scores of 43 and 42. Today's conditions suggested that a score close to 40 would probably win the day.
Here's Andy Gillott negotiating the bank; he posted an impressive 36 to further his challenge for the overall title.Roger shows off his kneeling technique.
Big Neil bags a pair on his way to 36 to tie for third on the day and 6th overall.
The morning session was topped by Andy Calpin who scored an impressive 38 to lead by 2. It looked like this score would not be troubled by the afternoon shooters as the wind seemed to increasing in ferocity. Dorian Falconer came close with a 37 but the day was to belong to Mr Calpin.
So to the award of trophies and the end of season mega raffle with lots of prizes on offer; many thanks to Napier for the sponsorship of the GP series.
Kate Green won a shoot off to claim her first piece of FT glassware; third in C grade. In her excitement Kate unfortunately dropped her newly won brandy glass. As soon as Mr Calpin received his then he offered it to Kate, what a gent!
Paul Schofield won A grade with an excellent 35 which was 1 more than Dave!
After the day's trophies were awarded it was on to the overall placements for the season.
Congratulation to Brian Samson who dominated the SFT class.
Piston class was a two way contest between Nick Murphy and Marc Fisher, both had won four of the previous eight rounds. Nick triumphed today and added the Piston title to the British Championship he won in April.
Ian Harford had started the season with 3 rounds of SFT before constructing six strong rounds to comfortably win C grade. Second place went to Roy Boliver, well done Arby!
Simon Higgins came top in B grade after an impressive first GP season. Tenth place belonged to Baltipal!
Midway through the presentation we were treated to some overhead aerobatics which temporarily took everyone's attention.
Ian Stoddart had a brilliant season and won A grade at a canter, Ian c'mon!
Karl Clarke finished 6th in A grade in his first GP season for many a year. And to the top man. British FT Champion Andrew Gillott.
It's been a great season and I daren't add up the miles that we have travelled. The grounds, the courses and the weather have all been variable but one thing has remained constant - we all had a great time.
So goodbye for a while, it's time for a blogging recess. Follow the adventures of the MFTA WL starting in October.

«Oldest ‹Older 1201 – 1400 of 1574 Newer› Newest»Right, I'm finally here. Has everyone gone to bed now?
just got back from pub with mia we are here !
Goodo, have you checked the Worlds results out Ian? Just think what you could have done down there on your present form!
I is back and no one here.
Nah we dont have winters like we used to.
Worst one shot in was at a W/L at Millride in 1995, horizontal hail coming from the field that hurt when it hit you- Sadly lost that part of the ground in 98 and best ground in the Midlands.
The other bad one was another W/L at Acton in Penkridge 95 or 96, three way shoot off in hail. Even my legs was shaking, won it though.
yes Jon, North Oxon is the Ottmoors ground.
Evening all. What tales of woe or joy from shooting today?
WHAT A DAY FOR ME!
Ella blew up & had to be fixed using a 5lb lump hammer, I couldn't look!
Today at the Worlds. Well, the SA site seems to have crashed & because of the time difference, I can't see it being up tonight but this has just been posted on STB;
"Just had a text off Rob.
43 in the sun and 30 in the shade, a bit breezey
J woodhead 38
J costello 38
Ozzy 35
Calpin 34
Page 27

Sarah 24

All the shooters felt better today and shot better"
So, the Woodhead/Costello march forges on!
Scores are up
Two days
http://www.ft-worlds2009.co.za/worlds_2009/all_scores.pdf
Just seen the scores. It's a 2 horse race then.
a big stumble for Steve Page from 40 to 27. Must be some course!
Still trying to decide where to go tomorrow.
North Oxon had a web site, is it 9.30 start?
Could go to NW W/L at Codnor.
Or Far Coley
The North Oxon shoot is shotgun start at 9.30am but you can book in until 12 noon.
their website
http://www.northoxonftc.org/
Ta Shaun decide later or when i wake up.
Geg top yank ex world chumpion when no one turned up past 50th place and not up to 50% yet.
Nice to see what courses they shot today to analyse.
Nail biting stuff from the Worlds, my money is still on Costello though!
I'm very lucky shooting at Millride with Clubmates like I've got. No sooner do I have a problem with Ella, they've got her stripped down in a field to a point I'd never go unless it was a whitewashed & sterile enviroment........and then probably not! And they've sorted her out so that I can shoot tomorrow. You lot are great, DO YOU HEAR, GREAT!!!!!!
Greg dont panic its in safe hands.
Last time i seen a similar look on some ones face was when i had to take a hammer to a new Purdey O/U £98K worth with customer standing over me.
He aint looking, hit it with a hammer. Go on give it some. Me, i would have used a stone.
Thanks Greg. Oh, I wasn't there!
Right time to retire. Greg 7.30am, Jon hope to see you tomorrow if not enjoy FC.
Good night Shaun i am leaning towards Ottmoor, sorry North Oxon.
Better have a look at my new chrono.
Just been talking to Roy, things are still very fraught with his Father-in-law but he wishes us well with North Oxon.
evening all, glad your gun is OK Greg.
Not at all happy with mine. Might borrow that lump hammer, see if it sorts mine out...
Hope everything turns out for Roy.
Have a great day tomorrow.
What's up with yours then Phil?
constant mv variation. my poi had dropped today by 5 clicks, explains the number that hit low. checked power and it was 740-750. last weekend I put 100 shots through it and was getting 768 average.
Regulator then?
I think so, opinion suggests pressure too high in reg.
Gotta get it Radfordised then.
Right, I'm away to wipe Ella down with a greasy rag & lube some pellets.
TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY!
Greg dont forget the portable tapometer
Likewise must size me some slugs.
Good manual for the chrono, tells everything except what dc power source. Must be 9V.
Need the infrared set up.
Greg and Shaun bring back a trophy each.
Well that s when Balti finally got out of bed.
Thanks for the company Shaun and Ian, good day out.
It was a great shoot today, nice & relaxed.....up to the point I was told I'd be in a shoot off that is!
Shaun managed the trophy though, if he carries on like this he'll be selling the EV2!
Worlds news.
The site is down again, not surprisingly but the news is that James Woodhead has won the Worlds after a shoot off against John Costello. Berty pulled the 3rd pushing SA down to 4th & 5th.
England has taken the team event but lost the piston title to SA, Paul James lost to a SA bloke after leading for two day's, it must have been one hell of a comp between them.
Just waiting for the results, hope NZ beat the yanks.
I reckon if Millride put a team together we would- not as stupid as it seems!
how was the new and improved pro target Greg?
Interesting Balts tried to log in earlier on SA forum, first time for 4 months after my 30 day undisclosed ban. They have wiped every post made since it first started in 2005.
It lasted for the shoot offs as well Phil.
Greg how could you let a woman beat you? New style for kneelers may be.
Greg, you let a woman beat you? how much did she charge?
No Phil, Greg says he aint in to whipping and bondage though there was some foreplay.
Luckiest kneeler we ever seen won it.
how'd you get on Jon?
Well done James Woodhead
congratulations Mick and Sarah
No good same ole problem of late cost me two yesterday and three today.
Ian 45
Me 44
Shaun spring 30
Tim Goodall won with 48 (Anchutz 2002) Dan Eley (Anchutz 2002) and Cliffy (Anchutz 2002) joint 2nd with 46.
Loads of targets either hidden from view or buried behind twigs and grass, hence targets for hft and FT.
Ha even won world champs today with an Anchutz 2002 sorted by me.
Reminds me must go he is playing his face with a 2002 i have here.
Shaun, will we have to retune our interweb for the winter league blog?
Phil, it will be lasr year's link
how was the springer?
erratic, both the gun and the scope.
Got to go to bed!
goe on my son, fill yer boots...
Evening chaps. Plenty to talk about, shooting-wise. Glad you had such a good day at N.O. and would have loved to have seen Greg's face when the field-drssings were applied to Ella.
Just got back from the hospital, having been there since about 2pm on Friday, with only snatched periods of sleep and no more than 4 hours at home. It's probably been the most mind blowing and intense period of my life. He was admitted with toxic shock at Friday lunch time, and then went into cardiac arrest. He was recusitated, but all treatment and medication was later withdrawn to allow nature to take its course. He was teetering on the brink with every breath likely to be his last. Then, at about 5 am today he opened his eyes and asked for water. We were absolutely amazed. A couple of hours later he was able to communicate, after a fashion, and was able to eat jelly and ice cream. He's not out of the woods by a very long way, considering his multiple and complex medical issues, but the today's events showed an amazing capacity for survival.
evening Roy, we are all thinking of you and your family. You must have such conflicting emotions at this time. I wish the best for you all.
Thanks Phil, I know exactly what you mean, and you've summed it up exactly. There are lots of stories within the story, but the blog isn't the place for them.
Was Greg's problem real, or was it manufactured before he knew I wouldn't be able to go "head to head" with him?
Without wishing to cast aspersions, I think it was self inflicted. I believe he pulled the trigger and the breech wasn't closed. In the resultant melee, a part got bent which Jonta and Ian straigntened with the lump hammer used to knock in the plinking range.
I stand to be corrected though.
excuse me! i was just a spectator in the op. i was looking at his little rosey cheeks as the two johns were wielding a 5lb lump hammer above there heads , crying like apair of red indians
I wish I could have been there to witness that likttle lot. What were the significant scores on Sat?
you ok roy , missed you today mate.
Roy heard this morning we are all with you.
Roy what you must remember Ian was the instigator in it all. The rifle didnt make it past the sillies before unprompted screwdrivers, hammers and allen keys were made available. It was apparent that we needed more tooling of should we say brutal nature.
Goo on ge it a pi..er he aint looking, no harder gi it some. Gregs face was a picture as he clocked us.
Well, I'm glad such mirth was found in the depths of my misery!!!!!!
No, I'm very lucky to have clubmates who firstly CAN do such things & are willing to spend their time on my rifle, Cheers lads!
Yesterday's shoot gave me back some confidence, if I can knock 38 over than atleast Ella can't be any WORSE than before but one or two inexplicable low ones gave me course for reflection, I mean several cm's low! I realised over a pint with Shaun though that I haven't cleaned the barrel yet so maybe my first attempt at a pull-through this week.
Maybe I should get some scales & start sorting pellets as well.
I feel muchsteadier on the target these day's now I'm bringing my right knee into play so perhaps I'm seeing more of my 'inconsistant' pellets.
Thanks for the good wishes lads, they're much appreciated. I couldn't respond last night because I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
I keep tittering at the similarities between Greg's weekend and my own. When F.I.L. arrested the alarm went off and within seconds 20 or maybe more people appeared from nowhere and went into a well-oiled routine. It must have been just like that for Greg. I'm looking forward to the TV documentary, "Saving Ella"
Sorry Greg didnt know what you scored yesterday. Correct me if i am wrong 40 took a trophy in A for reference.
Need some work on your kneelers.
Evening all. A fleeting visit before WTD.
Evening all.
Jon, everything about my style needs work mate!!!!! My kneelers are generally pretty reliable though, I'm putting that dropped target down to nerves & bad luck. I had no idea that 40 won B Grade, I think that maybe less than the winning score for C Grade, isn't it?
Every time I shoot Ella I get to know her alittle better & I improve just a little, I felt very comfortable at North Oxon. I still think I need two longer cheek piece rods though, so if you Engineer types are logged on........
Roy, I do hope no one went near F.I.L with a 5lb lump hammer!
evening all. any results for North Oxon?
Evening everybody. The WL is almost here. Any predictions?
I'd be surprised if we do Phil, not that kind of vibe to it, more relaxed.
Anything sorted with the Steyr?
Hi Royston, I think the first few will start out comfortable but as the Season progresses it will definitely get much colder!
I tried it again on Sunday, mv was at mid to high 750's. was getting low 760's on Sat, which taking into account the ambient temp difference I can understand.
You planing to do the WL Sunday Roy? Or is it to early to say?
How is FIL?
From a couple of conversations, I think the reg pressure may be a little too high.
There were some very cold shooting days last season and I've already been giving thought to maximising warmth and comfort.
Seal skin coat & trousers Roy, all the rage in Greenland I hear. You'll have to be care with that 'tosh though mate, people may throw mackerell at you!
As it stands, I'll be there on Sunday, and am looking forward to it.
To look at him tonight you'd never believe what he's been through over the past few days and he's become something of a celebrity amongst the doctors and staff. The nature of his medical condition though is that anything could happen at any time.
Thanks Greg, it's good to be back.
No es nada Roy.
thats why he smells of fish
I didn't like to mention it.
Ere Phil just a thought you aint got chronoitis have you?
Plenty of JSB knocking around i cannot get a chrono reading from within 60+ft/sec and i had to use em.
Also most chronos are very susceptible to lighting, most notably the BFTA jobby at best 16ft/sec high.
some body mension a cod peice
1986 that video Ian
I'm very partial to a nice bit of fish, but I had been wondering why I'm attractive to cats.
Reminds me when i was young used to know a few Norwegian trawlers around Wombourne.
Probably looking for Dogga bank!
Greg, you're on fire tonight mate, have you been sniffing gun oil again?
Lead solvent!
Just been asking the Yanks if they can handle another Worlds given their antipathy to all things less than 20flbs!
Why should they be given the opportunity?
In 2005 the only US presence was here on holiday and came to see Mick Dawes.
Before and after a few have travelled, plain and simple they avoided ours and got in while they had a chance last year because it wouldnt happen again.
We wont mention their across the board way of thinking, as they dont care what happens outside US as all but a few will not travel or should we say support!
Well Jonny, they get the chance because they're members of the WFTA but it's whether they want the chance that's the question. They seem to be uninterested in the mainstream game, I just wondered if there was even a spark left there for it.
This is what I asked them;
"I don't comment on the U.S. domestic scene, I don't think it would be appreciated & I really wouldn't know what I was talking about but reading some of the Post Worlds posts below made me wonder if another Worlds COULD be held Stateside given a certain amount of antipaphy towards the WFTA code that I seem to be detecting.
The United States is a member of the WFTA & as such is on the rota to host a Worlds at some point. Now, the list I've seen had you down for 2028, so it may well be some way off yet but that same list didn't have Hungary down for 2010 either so it is obviously subject to change. Moreover, some of the Countries ahead of you maybe unable to host one or may opt to co-host with another neighbouring Country, i.e. the Netherlands & Belgium so your turn might happen sooner than you may anticipate.
How will this stand given that there would appear to be only six to maybe a dozen active 'International Class' Shooters in the U.S., would it be a pass?"
Greg, I'm looking forward to their response. Do uou have a link?
Sure, try this;
http://www.airguns.net/index.php
If thats gone on the two Delphi sites or yellow, expect a grilling.
All not as bad as they were, just mentioning any other country yet alone power levels brought outrage of highest order.
or a hammering, you know about that
Well, that's what kicked me off really.
One guy said they should be training under WFTA rules to be more competitive & frankly it got a bit ugly after that! Made me wonder if they would have the will to host one under the new rules.
Leave it out Ian, you know he's a jibbering wreck. It wasn't the hammering that worried him, it was when you clamped the barrel in the vice.
VICE, there was no vice, workbench or indeed, work room...........there was my bumbag in the field by the silys, some allen keys, a screwdriver &.........(gulp)a 5lb lump hammer(shudder!!!!)
I worry alittle bit about the Americans, they seem to diverge more & more from us year by year.
I've got to have 1300!
Right, I think I'm alone at this point so good night.........who am I talking to?
One of many similar nature:-
"All the more reason why there will probably never be another Worlds Match in The US. We Americans Like it our way and they like it there way.
adopt the Worlds Rules the Game would suffer greatly. I for one will never give up my harness and dont especialy like shooting a 12ft/lb gun"
me been getting photos from euros off jesus. nicole`s shown me how to do it.
me thick. sound like a red indian, don`t i . you should know greg
Think the mut wants another walk, giving me funny looks.
Its easy when you know how Ian.
Did you build your computer your self?
Ere Phil just a thought you aint got chronoitis have you?
There's a distinct possibility, is there a cure?
I could take the batteries out of the thing I suppose.
Phil, it's not the winning, it's the taking A-part that counts. Am I right?
*In the voice of churchill the dog*
Oh, Yes.
Phil, if in doubt take it apart.
Theres nothing a hammer wont cure.
Reg pressures too high.
Buds in hospital on a drip and being closely monitored over night.
Blood tests ok, neurological and poisoning not ruled out.
Was expecting the worst happier now having seen the vet. Know more tomorrow.
Ive got a brickies hammer some where great for intricate work and cracking open things.
Hope the pooch pulls through Jon.
Where abouts do I hit it to get the reg pressure down?
latest head to head and silly scores now online.
not like these ridiculous open competitions that don't publish the results. harrumph.
Holá a todos, ¿comó estás?
Royston, I see we're now on the same number of comps with 3 points separating us.
1/ The Object is victory
2/ The spoils will be beer
3/ the effect will be to stay in the top 10
4/The game is on!
Greg, any repercussions from the adjustment percussions?
38ex50 says no but I will be watching carefully.
The cocking action does seem different but how much of that is imagination I don't know.
What it did was give me an excuse to see into the action, something I wouldn't of had the cojones to do myself!
Rob's write up of the Worlds has gone up on STB fellas!
Greg, Pro Target users manual here:
http://www.s250437992.e-shop.info/online/templatemedia/all_lang/resources/Air+Arms+Pro+Target.pdf
EV2 trigger block is the same. Better pictures are on the top of pages 4 and 5 here:
http://www.air-arms.co.uk/PDF/EV2%20mk3%20ISS1.pdf
"4/The game is on!"
Bring it on Big Fella. (But not too much)
Remember you two, no sex before a big competition.
But you can hold hands.
PHEW! That sounds like the toughest three Courses I've ever heard of, all on top of those conditions as well! I'm not suprised people were only scoring in the 20's!
Thanks Phil, copied & saved.
no excuse now not to have a dabble. Go on, you know you want to.
Evening fellas. Phil you could ask Jason to check your reg pressure as he as a guage so will be able to set it to what you like.
Hope Bud is ok Jon
Ta John missed him already.
Have a butchers at this bitches other videos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqhqexbt3i0
Evening chaps!
about time, where's your note?
Jon that was like when I shot martins side by side with 2 triggers, yes I went through the triggers and gave it both barrels.
Hi Mr C
just read Rob's adventure. It's got to be a Millride invasion to Hungary next year.
Yes I just read it as well. Sounds like one of lifes great experiences.
Have already mentioned to the other half. Try to work it around a holiday
We need a date.
Laters, got to go and give mounts another coat of paint..
Shaun, I'm doing my homework here & have hit a snag. Have you come across the term, 'que aproveche'?
If you but the accent over the E in 'qué' it translates as, 'What advantage'.
If you don't put any accents anywhere you get,'Sieze' but with a exclamation mark at the end it becomes, 'Your meal'
???????????????????????
Enjoy your meal
Ahh, gracias.
Evening chaps.
The Spanish particular teacher is here!
Shaun, I sent a e-mail to Andras Fakete, the Hungarian mate asking for the next Worlds dates, and I didn't received yet any answer.
Greg, "buen provecho" means Good apetit , and it's the usual polite words at the begining of the lunch, dinner, breackfast, etc...
One down one to go the 2002 in monstrous box is going tomorrow to Essex. Relief only 7 weeks late.
P70 rail going as well ordered April 2008.
Buenas noches Jesus,
thanks for the e-mail with the dates for the Euskedi Open. At the moment Easyjet are only booking up to June 2010.
I have printed off the notice and will display it in my car at FT events.
Good idea Shaun!
Thanks
Holá Jesús, why did I think you'd be in India?
So what does '¡que aproveche! mean then?
Evening Jesus probably the best one to get information for Hungary is Janos email (remove this)boli@mailbox.hu
Just enquired.
No, Greg. I'm still here. I'll go to India in November.
The meening is the same "que aproveche" = Enjoy the meal= Good apetit.
He doesn't trust me Jesus!
Thanks Jon.
I'll send it tomorrow, so it seems Adras is off the line.
Evening again chaps. Rob's write-up would be enough to frighten mere mortals such as myseif from doing a world event.
battery low
time to go
Buenas noches amigos!
Hi Roy.
Yes, I've read the Rob's tale and it seems that Southafricans discovered other FT's dimension: trekking FT!!!!
Moreover they use reducers forever.
Buenas noches Shaun
Hasta mañana
¡Que aproveche! Shaun.
No, Greg. He's going to the bed, not to have dinner!( I think)
I wouldn't assume anything Jesús, I'm about to eat a pork pie!
Right , amigos.
Time to bed.
Hasta mañana.
Buenas noches
Hasta luego mi amigo.
Well that's me done an' all!
Nighty-night, buenas noches and if you are about to indulge in a late, late snack......¡que aproveche!
World Champs Hungary
We will have to wait until 17 October for an answer. There will be a web site in English, questions will be answered there by Janos.
evening Jon, hows the pooch?
Evening guys, Phil new mounts now red. Will laquer them tomorrow.
Who yes how is Bud
sacrilege to spoil those lovely new mounts
A bit of 80 grit sand paper will have them back to prestine condition, if not a dremmel will
Evening chaps!
Just pulled through the barrel ready for the big start on Sunday. Inevitably the trigger of the EV feels rather light after my springer exploits.
Swap the triggers over then Mr C
what do you use for a pull through?
Barbed wire I think he uses
really gets into the rifling, doesn't it.
excellent article in the FT:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/e76c1c3e-ad28-11de-9caf-00144feabdc0.html?nclick_check=1
some common sense at last.
I use a pull through!
Okay, I use a pull through wire and rifle rag.
Evening folks, what's happening then?
Everyone ran away!
Greg check out your profile on FT adventure. I've changed mine because I'm now focusing on the MFTA WL. Do you want to change yours?
Sure, how do I do that?
e-mail me what you want to write.
Phil G
can you e-mail me the image that you sent with your FT profile please.
I think I need a new piccie with Ella as well, I'll bring my camera Saturday.
Okay, I'm off to be. Will blog on Friday, Espanyol manana.
Picture sent
That GP on STB is still up for grabs, no one seems to be snapping his arm off!
EH?
strange isn't it. I think I've only seen one on the circuit and that was given to him free.
Not sure if they need to sell it at £1700 or if its just to position it in the market, but their Sales and Marketing manager needs to have a word with himself.
Have you been sniffing the swarfega again Phil?
I was looking at the wrong page and made a comment accordingly.
yes I have, whats it to you?
I've got it under control, i could stop if I wanted to.
I started off the season looking out for the GP & the S&B uberscope, to see what impact they would have on the circuit & the Comps. Only Sam Barr, John Bytheway & Stu Hancox had the GP & I'm sure Sam was shooting a Walther or a Steyr at the Euros!
Daystate must of invested a fair bit on development yet they seem to be happy to let it lie fallow.
The thing you notice when you go on the foreign forums is that after a big Comp someone always asks for a list of the equipment used, this Worlds was no exception. You'd think Daystate would be sensitive to the fact that England has retained the title without their imput at all & would want to do something about it.
Someone said they aimed the GP for the foreign market but they aren't convincing too many by their showing thus far!
I don't think they are happy, not sure what they could do about it, unless they drop the price to a sensible level.
I think many people remember the problems with the early mk3's packing up in the rain and stay away, what ever the current performance.
I like the theory of them, but the brief go I had with one I didn't like the feel of the electronic trigger, couldn't tell when it was going to fire, maybe not typical, but if someone gave me one for nowt, I give it a go.
Well, off the top of my head.......Daystate could sponsor a Comp & put one up as a prize, I bet they've got a few lieing around gathering dust.
I just find it odd that they've seemed to have rolled over to Air Arms when it comes to FT but have developed a FT rifle!!!!!!!!!!
arn't they sponsoring the midland winter HFT nonsense?
maybe they are changing tack?
they did have that 'break-in' not so long ago. I bet quite a few GP's went missing, know what I mean?
I don't think they'ved changed tack, I've associated the Daystate with 'Hooftering' anyway but it almost seems like they developed the GP then said, "Ahh f-it! We can't be bothered, Air Arms, you take FT!"
Fell asleep.
Seen Bud last night filled with high dose of drugs. I dont think he knew any of us.
He ripped a cafeter out now has to wear a lamp shade.
At present they dont know the cause and staying in for at least another 36hrs after this mornings seizure.
Theres not a lot i can say about the new Daystates having signed confidentiality agreement.
What could have been the best production gun made in every way has turned in to a right dog in every way.
Told them over two years ago what needs doing but went their own way as usual. No wonder no one uses them.
There were more roreigners with them than us lot at Weston, think that says it all.
Greg they didnt develop the GP, all it is is blue anodised breach, change of barrel sleeve, lcd, trigger blade and that dog of a stock.
I shot two of the modified Mark3 prototypes in August 2007, one went to the worlds at 900ft/sec in same laminate stock colour as mine. The same gun promised to me and never delivered.
This time two years ago i was going to sell that expensive Anchutz of mine £2k unmodded and unconverted, twice as dear as a GP and only three converted in the world.
I could never understand their logic but its been a decade since any decent rifle has been designed and produced by them.
Everything aimed at plinker, hunter, hft and COLLECTOR, yes they do have a good fan base who will buy anything.
Now Greg thats nasty, they sold more than 180 GP,more used in hft than ft.
Point being who would want to win a GP, at least you could get rid of a Mark4.
I wonder if Daystate & Air Arms have a 'Gentlemen's Agreement', "You have HFT & we'll have FT."?
Bedtime now though, night Jon.
Different tactics by AA, knew they were on the losing side if Daystate produced what every one wanted and had to do something quick.
Phil you had a freebie works gun 1 of 2. New guns purchased at a lot less than what you paid shot out two years on.
Any one who is anyone has either got a couple given or serious discount, thats why there are so many! Good support from factory as well, pellets, gear, even £500 towards worlds expenses 5 years ago.
What have Daystate got to offer?
Local, good after sales support and run by enthusiasts.
All previous tonights posts are down graded, it got me a ban on the SA forum in April because its run by the distributors and told em the way it is.
You are up late, thought i was the only night howler.
In work 32 mile away for 7.30am about 18 mile from Daystate.
Lastly and i will leave it at that.
What could have been undeniably the absolute ultimate in airguns, ie perfect and i mean that, they went their own way listened to no one and look what has been produced- says it all.
Told Ds exactly what was needed and the only thing done was make free floating on GP- logical because it saves money. I would be hard pushed to find a single part that i would use if made right! One major blunder area they have programmes set up already to use, its only a matter of altering next batch. Even offered to produce what was needed from production items! Next thing blue as in EV2 and paint job, throw in the mix the greatest cock up with valving and what every one commented on- It was on to a loser before the 2nd one saw the circuit last year!
Triggers are surprisingly good even though electric.
Have they been bought out yet?
Buenas noches a todos, I am here, is anyone there?
Just back from my leccion español. No new identities tonight, indeed, my Pablo Román card had to be returned leading me to suspect that Pablo has been compremised. I have reverted to my main cover, 'Buenos noches, yo illamo Raul, Antonio Raul. yo soy de Mexico'.
evening raul, the pigeon flies at midnight, will you be on it?
